2. Get to know your library online and in person

You can chat with us, email us, and visit us in person. You can also book a librarian for a one-on-one Zoom consultation or visit our library website for an overview of services and resources provided by the library.

3. Not sure what we do or what you can ask us?

Don’t worry, just ask. We don’t bite. Some of the things other students ask us about include:

  • How to find articles, ebooks, and other information, and decide whether it’s good information.
  • Using AI at university.
  • How to develop a search strategy using the PICO framework.
  • Problems accessing articles and ebooks from home.
  • How to check if information is peer reviewed or scholarly literature.

4. Find the best databases for your topic

To find the most relevant databases, go to Databases A-Z, then filter by Subject and select Search.

5. Check out our referencing guides

Referencing, acknowledging information, ideas and quotes you have used in your assessment is important. If you are not sure how to reference or referencing has let you down in the past, check out our comprehensive referencing guides.

6. Use our library spaces

Library spaces and collections open early, close late and are open on weekends - check our opening hours for details. There are spaces for quiet study, working in groups or relaxing. Remember to bring your student card, you may need it to gain access to the library. You also need your card to borrow, print, copy and scan.
