Clear your browser cache and cookies

Follow the instructions below to clear your browser history. Choose to clear "everything" or "all time" as the time range:

Browser check

  • Check your browser is up to date.
  • Try a different browser.
  • Try using private browsing or incognito mode.

Alternative access

Try to access resources starting from Library search or Databases A-Z (check database-specific information for example, on campus access only).

Login directly from many database and publisher websites via OpenAthens. Look for an institutional login link.

Other search tools to try include Google Scholar, LibKey Nomad and LibKey.io.

User limits for ebooks and databases

We may have a limited number of user licenses for a library resource. This means only a certain number of ACU users can view a resource at the same time.

Check access restrictions in Library search:

  • Search for a database or ebook.
  • Open the full record of the resource.
  • Check the "View online" section for notes about user licenses.

Try to access the resource again later.

Login and password

To access library resources off-campus you will need to sign in using your ACU username and password.

Login error messages

Quickly resolve common login errors for databases/ebooks (OpenAthens) and Library search (catalogue).

 
Error message Reason Solution
Blank extra spaces or tabs (trailing spaces) in your username or password
  1. Check for extra spaces at the beginning or end of your username or password – these invisible characters can prevent successful login.
  2. Clear your browser history and restart your browser.
  3. Type your credentials manually instead of copying/pasting or using autofill.
  4. If login succeeds, update your browser's saved password to fix the stored credentials.
Issue with ACU student account (new or recently re-enrolled) Contact AskACU to check your enrolment.
Issue with ACU staff account Contact Service Central if you are not in the staff directory.
