Online Endnote training

Attend an introductory and/or advanced Endnote skills workshop between April and July.

EndNote is bibliographic software that allows you to store, manage, search, and share references for your research as well as manage your bibliographies. ACU staff and students can download Endnote for free! See the Endnote guide for details.

This training is recommended for researchers and postgraduate students.

Each session is scheduled for 1.5 hours. 

Introduction to EndNote 20

During this class you will learn how to:

  • Set up a Library in EndNote 20.
  • Export references from a Library database.
  • Find full text and attach PDF files.
  • Search, sort, and group references.
  • Choose a referencing style to use with EndNote.
  • Use EndNote with Microsoft Word to insert citations and create a bibliography.

Advanced EndNote 20 for ACU Staff and Researchers 

Designed for those who want to learn some of the advanced features, to save time and avoid common problems.

Participants should already have a reasonable working knowledge of EndNote software.

This workshop will include:

  • Using advanced functions (such as the ratings feature and smart groups) to manage literature or systematic reviews.
  • Syncing and sharing EndNote libraries and groups.
  • Adding your own labels and research notes to references in EndNote.
  • Downloading and modifying an EndNote output style.
  • Journal title abbreviations using terms lists.
  • Working with long documents (such as a thesis or book) & unformatted citations.
