Research Rescue

Do you have published work sitting behind a paywall? Let us rescue it for you and make it more discoverable – and you could win a little prize in the process.

If you're an ACU researcher with published work, we hope you'll answer the call to get involved in Research Rescue.

What is Research Rescue?

Research Rescue is ACU Library’s call to make paywalled ACU research openly available by depositing Author Accepted Manuscripts (AAMs) in Research Bank, boosting visibility and reach.

Why get involved?

Hosting an Author Accepted Manuscript (AAM) alongside the published version in the repository offers several benefits:

  • Research outputs are discoverable and more highly ranked in Google, Scholar and other external indexes.
  • Greater impact from research outputs and increased potential for citations.
  • Meeting funder Open Access requirements for outputs arising from current grants.
  • Maximise the interest and readership in older publications while enriching your ACU author profile.

Plus, we'll be giving away a prize to one lucky participant from each faculty.

How to take part

  1. Register your interest with the library's Research Engagement team by emailing us at [email protected].
  2. We’ll check your publication record and identify which are eligible for green open access.
  3. You’ll be notified of which publications need to be tracked down for the AAM version.
  4. You supply the AAM version of the article.
  5. The library does the rest.

Research Rescue runs until the end of November 2026, so now is the perfect time to chat to us about elevating the discovery and dissemination of your publications.
