Become a Human Book.
Have you ever felt stereotyped, marginalised, or faced prejudice?
Do you have valuable life experiences that others could benefit from?
Are you willing to share your story in person with others?
Then we invite you to become a Human Book in ACU’s Human Library, at Brisbane or Blacktown.
Human Library is a program where readers can ‘borrow’ a Human Book for a conversation.
Human Books often represent people from all walks of life who have been stereotyped, marginalised, or faced stigma or prejudice based on their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity, sex, age, profession, lifestyle choices, economic or health status or other aspect of life.
Through positive dialogue, the Human Library’s goals are to encourage new ideas and ways of thinking in a non-judgmental environment. It gives people an opportunity to see life from a different perspective.
The ACU Human Library will be held in the Brisbane campus library on Tuesday 4 April 2023.
The ACU Human Library will be held in the Blacktown campus library in August 2023.
If you are successful in becoming a Human Book, there will be a required training session:
