Journal metrics are sourced from two main platforms: Web of Science (JCR) and Scopus. Each measures different elements of metrics and has its strengths and limitations.

There are a range of metrics available to demonstrate journal impact and each uses different data and calculation methods. Rankings lists created from journal metrics are one way of identifying and measuring the relative prestige of a journal within a particular field.

Important: Read the requirements of the funding agency or other application/promotion criteria to determine if Journal Metrics will be applicable or allowed.
