Find citations

Book Citation Index

Use the Book Citation Index to find when a book or book chapter has been cited in other works indexed in Web of Science.

The Book Citation index is divided into 2 book indexes:

• Book Citation Index – Science
• Book Citation Index – Social Sciences & Humanities

Find them in the Web of Science Core Collection. Select the Book Citation Index under the Editions menu to access this product.

Scopus

Use Scopus to find when a book or book chapter has been cited in other works indexed in Scopus and how citations received compare with the average for similar documents.

Perform an Author Search for the author and from the results page, refine the search by book or book chapter using the Document Type filter on the left side.

The record page for the book chapter will display a “Cited By” box on the right side of the page. Select the “View all citing documents” link to view a list of works indexed by Scopus that cite the book chapter.

Find book reviews

• ACU Library Search – conduct your search for book or author, and then limit to "Book Reviews"
• Book Citation Index – Science – login to Web of Science and tick checkbox for Book Citation Index Science edition. Search by title, author, or keyword and limit results to Document type: book reviews
• Book Citation Index – Social Sciences & Humanities – login to Web of Science and tick checkbox for Book Citation Index SSH edition. Search by title, author, or keyword and limit results to Document type: book reviews
• Humanities International Complete – search by title, author, or keyword and limit results to book reviews
• AustLit – Australian Literature Gateway – search by title, author, or keyword and limit Form to Review
• Art and Architecture Source – search by title, author, or keyword and limit results to book reviews
• HNet Reviews – Humanities and Social Sciences Online Scholarly Reviews

Find library holdings

Provide an indication of the reach of your publication and demonstrate that it is considered useful for teaching and research purposes.

WorldCat searches the holdings of more than 10,000 libraries worldwide.

1. Go to WorldCat
2. Search for the title of your book for a full list of libraries holding it.
3. Type 'all' in the 'Enter your location' box to see worldwide holdings of the book

Trove covers the holdings of Australian libraries and archives

JISC Library Hub Discover searches holdings in libraries in the UK and Ireland.

The European Library catalogues the collections of the 48 European national libraries.
