Research Bank is ACU’s institutional repository. It serves to collect, preserve and showcase the research publications and scholarly outputs of ACU staff and higher degree by research students.

Introducing Research Bank

Where possible and permissible, a full text version of a research output is available as open access.

Research Bank and ACU Library supports the green open access model of open access. When you deposit a manuscript of your research in the repository, it will be made freely available after an embargo period.

Research Bank also supports the deposit of research datasets and descriptions of datasets.

Why use Research Bank?

When you deposit your research publications in Research Bank you make your research easier to access, and increase your research impact. Benefits of depositing your work include:

  • Access – all Research Bank entries are discoverable via Google Scholar.
  • Impact – your work will reach a wider audience, which can lead to an increase in citations and other impact measures.
  • Open access – depositing the manuscript of your funded research will meet the conditions of Australian and international open access funding mandates.
  • Keep track of your work – with all your work in one place it's easier to keep track of your research outputs.
  • ERA reporting – when you deposit your research in Research Bank you help the university report for ERA. Publication data for ACU's ERA submission is sourced from Research Bank.

Depositing your research

When you report the details of your publications into ORION they are verified and sent through to Research Bank.

The recommended version is the author’s accepted manuscript.

  • This is the version following peer review with revisions made but no copy editing or formatting from the publisher.
  • Your author's accepted manuscript is different from the published version which includes references, journal branding, typesetting and pagination.
  • Check open policy finder (formerly SHERPA/RoMEO) to see if your publisher will allow you to deposit in Research Bank.

Research Bank also accepts datasets for archiving and publishing.
