Access and use
Access to the physical collection in our North Sydney Library is by appointment only.
Please give us a week's notice where possible, so we have staff available to provide access.
Conditions of access
To help us protect our collections, we ask visitors to follow these guidelines.
- Sign in at the Information Desk and show us a valid photo ID on arrival.
- Collection materials can only be accessed in the Historical publications (North Sydney) room at our North Sydney Library.
- Treat everything with care and make sure your hands are clean.
- Take your valuables with you but leave your bags in our storage area at the Information desk next to the Library entrance.
- Laptops, devices, pencils and sealed water bottles are allowed in the Historical publications (North Sydney) room. But no pens, food or open drink containers.
- Personal books can be brought into the room. We will record these at the Information desk when you sign in.
- Ask our staff for access to materials in locked cabinets.
- We will tidy up. Please let our staff re-shelve any items you have used.
- Photocopying, scanning and photography may be permitted at the sole discretion of Library staff and must comply with Copyright laws.
