It's important to keep track of the materials you have on loan. Any items that are overdue may result in a fine.

Fines and notices

Pay fines online

Pay fines online or in person at the Library information desk using money added to your library card.

Check your fines through My Library. You may also be eligible to renew your loans before their due date.

We will send reminder notices to your ACU email address when your loans are nearly due as well as overdue. They are sent as a courtesy. It is up to you to renew or return your borrowed items on time.

If you have overdue items, including those from other ACU libraries or non-ACU libraries, or you have fines of $10 or more you will not be able to borrow, renew or place a hold.

Fines are charged at the following rates:

Type of loan Fine
Recalled items 50 cents per item per day
High demand (2 hour loans) $1 per hour (or part thereof)
3 day loans and interlibrary loans $2 per item per day

Fines are capped at $50 per item.

Loans information has more detailed information about fines, notices, recalls and suspensions.

Recalls

  • Items out on loan may be recalled if another person places a hold on the item or it is needed for the High Demand collection.
  • This shortens the loan period already given - but you are guaranteed a minimum 7 day loan.
  • Recall notices will be sent to your ACU email. You can also check the due dates of your loans in My Library.
  • Fines will be issued on overdue recalled items.
