Link to a page:

HeinOnline allows you to create a permanent link to any page of a subscribed title, including:
  • Cases: the first, or any other, page of a case e.g. R. v. Purbeck  (1694-1865) 1 Eng. Rep. 1;  Exxon Shipping Co. v. Baker, 554 US 471 (2007)
  • Journal article: the first, or any other, page of an article e.g. Melville M.  Bigelow, ‘Mistake of Law as a Ground of Equitable Relief’  (1885) 1 Law Quarterly Review 298.
  • Texts: the first page of a text or of any chapter or part of the text e.g. United Nations Juridical Yearbook 2012 (United Nations, 2013) 
  1. On the HeinOnline platform locate the case, article, legislation, chapter or document you want to link to.
  2. Click on the 'Permanent Link to This Page' icon in the tool bar above the document.
  3. A pop up box will appear listing the specific URL of the current page, copy the URL.
  4. Paste this URL into your online unit.
  5. Add the following EZproxy prefix to the front of the copied URL: http://ezproxy.acu.edu.au/login?url=
  6. Your final URL should look something like this (note- the URL contains no breaks or spaces):

Link to a title:

HeinOnline allows you to create a permanent link to any subscribed title, including: 

  • Law reports: e.g. the United States Reports and the English Reports.
  • Law Journals: e.g. the Business Law Review and the American Journal of International Law.
  • Texts: e.g. Bentham’s Theory of Legislation

  1. On the HeinOnline platform locate the title you want to create a link to.
    There are two ways to identify the link to a specific title.  The first is by searching for the title using the Catalog Search option.  The second is by browsing to the title within the HeinOnline library it resides in.  Searching for the title using the Catalog Search option is the fastest method to identify the link.

    Click on the 'Catalog Search' tab on the top toolbar. Select 'Publication Title' from the drop down.  Enter the name of the title you wish to link to.  If you do not know the exact name of the title, enter a few key words from the title and press the Enter key or click on the Search button.
  2. From the results list, you can right click on the title and copy the link address/location or you can click on the required title then highlight and copy the URL in the browser address bar.
  3. Paste this URL into your online unit.
  4. Add the following EZproxy prefix to the front of the copied URL: http://ezproxy.acu.edu.au/login?url=
  5. Your final URL should look something like this (note- the URL contains no breaks or spaces):
