Requesting items

You can make requests for items that are:

ACU staff and HDR students may suggest an item for purchase by completing the Library Resources Request Form.

Request items currently on loan

You can place a Request:

  • online - sign in to My Library, search for the item, click on Locations, then click on "Request" (to request physical items like books) or "Digitization" (for a scanned copy of a chapter, article, section, etc. to be sent to your email - Copyright restrictions apply)
  • in person at the loans desk.

When the item is available we will send an email to your ACU email address. The item will be held for:

  • five days if it is a standard loan
  • one day if it is a restricted loan.

Restricted and high demand loans, ie. 3 day loans, can be requested from your home library only.

Request items located at any ACU campus library

You can request items from another campus to be sent to your home campus library.

Fully online students can request items from any ACU library to be sent to their home address or pick them up at their nearest campus.

We call this an "Intercampus Loan". Book chapters and journal articles can also be scanned and emailed to your ACU email address.

  • Items are sent via Australia Post.
  • Scans are sent via email.
  • You can have 10 intercampus loans at any one time.
  • Requested items will be loaned to you if you have no overdue items and your fines are under $10.
  • Copyright provisions apply. For books, one chapter or 10% whichever is greater and for journal articles, generally one article from each issue. Check with your campus library if unsure.
  • You cannot request restricted or high demand items from another campus.

Request items not held by ACU - interlibrary loan

ACU staff, higher degree, postgraduate and honours students can request items from other non-ACU libraries. We refer to these as "interlibrary loans".

Request an interlibrary loan now:

  • Requested items will be loaned to you if you have no overdue items and your fines are under $10.
  • Copyright provisions apply. For books, one chapter or 10% whichever is greater and for journal articles, generally one article from each issue. Check with your campus library if unsure.
  • You can cancel an interlibrary loan by signing in to My Library and going to Requests.
